VARIATION 3

With VARIATION 3, TOURAGE began exploring the dialogue between the different elements of the painting: shape and color.

The VARIATION 3 series continues to use the 7X7 squares in a single color or in several ones applied in a thick layer. The final layer is applied in an irregular pattern either exposing the grid or covering it.

The irregularity in both the direction and thickness of the final coat creates an impression of freedom from the underlying geometric pattern of the grid. The contrast between geometric freedom and rigor is coupled with the contrast between the white finishing coat and the underlying colors forming dialogue around both color and shape.
